We came north through Guadalajara on Tuesday. We jumped off before Tonala, where it was marked Airport. Did a retorno, and followed it to the Airport/Chapala road. Minimal traffic, minimal holes, but lots of bounce. When we got to the Chapala/Airport road, we turned right and went the couple of miles to the Periferico Sur. Missed all laterals, the loop up to the right, then up and over the mountain. Didn't check the mileage, but timing was interesting. Going south in November, it was 55 minutes from turning onto the perifico to where we rejoined the "freeway" near the bus station. Coming nouth, we turned off the perifico, before Tonala, and turned off of it 60minutes later. It was easier.
Our way north probably would have been quite a bit faster than the way south, but at the Colima/San Jose del Tajo road, the lanes are reduced from 6 to 4 due to construction on the bridge going south. It was gridlock.
