New RVer needs advice
We are looking to drive from Murphy, NC to Tampa, FL. We went through Atlanta coming here and would like to avoid that, including the infamous bypass on the way back. Any suggestions?

I take the short route (I-75) straight through trying to avoid the busiest time of day. It's always busy though!- Going between Cincinnati and Florida, I've tried going thru on 75 and around to the east or west on 285. Between construction and wrecks, there's always a backup someplace. So now I take 59 and 65 around to the west or 40, 26 and 95 around to the east. Yeah, its longer, but my blood pressure stays a lot lower. And I'm retired and not in a hurry anyway.
Maybe I could buy a department store mannequin to ride shotgun so I could use the HOV lane. Might be worth it. After all, I only need the top half. :) - oops!, double post, sorry.
- I drive to Florida every year. Doesn't matter what time or day I hit Atlanta, it's always rush hour. Doesn't bother me now, just stay in the second lane from the right and travel on through.

- I visit Peach Tree City a lot. From the south side I take US 41 from Griffin to Barnesville and US 341 down to Perry and back on to I-75. Good road, light traffic and I miss Macon.
The north side, forget it, I still haven't found an effective route. I'll be checking this for suggestions. sdianel wrote:
We take US411 and cut over to Rome GA and go down US27. Once we're south of Atlanta, we take US19 down through Thomasville and continue on US19 south to US98 east to pickup the Suncoast Parkway (toll) to US54 near Tampa. The toll is well worth it.
