Yes, and it will be 1 lane for quite some time. The bridges for both east- and west-bound I-84 are being rebuilt. I-84 to I-81 is, however, the most direct route. From Milford, PA I frequently like to take Rt. 209 through the Delaware Water Gap Nat'l Recreation Area. This is a nice drive if you're not in a hurry. The only problem with this route is when you get to the Allentown-Bethlehem area via Rt. 33 your choices are Rt. 22 west, which is frequently backed up, or I-78 west. I-78 is a bit longer, has a bit of a grade after you've crossed the Lehigh River (it's short, though) and a high volume of truck traffic. Your dilemma is "no good way to get there from here."
