Ran US-54 in a big truck, always liked to get off the "I roads" when I could. Liberal KS was always a nice stop. There is the Seven Winds RV Park there. Never stopped but it's part of Good Sam.
Stop by "Dorothy's House" while your in town.
The truck stop on the west side of town use to have a nice thick cut pork chop that was worth the stop.
