Niagara Falls To Quebec

I am planning a trip across Canada above lake Ontario. Wondering about Hwy 401. We will be in Niagara Falls and wondering what to do and where to travel above Lake Ontario. Any help would be great.
  • Many years ago, on this forum, someone wrote that they were making their first foray into Canada. They asked if the 401 was a good road or whether it was 'A narrow track that wound its way through the wilderness'.
In fact the 401 was the busiest road in the world!
  • Big city expressway. Fuel costs much higher so fill to the gills before leaving USA. Drivers are...unforgiving in the Toronto area.
  • There is a lot of info that can be provided with a bit more about you.
What size unit are you driving, what type of camping do you plan, how much time do you have, what are your interests?

The 401 is the major highway through southern Ontario. It is very, very busy getting from Niagara Falls to East of Toronto. You will want to chose the day and time very carefully when going through Toronto.

Are you aware of gas costs in Canada? Gas is much more expensive than in the US and particularly when you get into Quebec.

You should get lots of advice on this forum. You could also do a search for postings about Niagara Falls.
