NOAA in Canada?

For planning, the Weather Network is probably as good as any, once you're in motion listen to CBC or other radio stations for weather info.

Your weather radio will work but the coverage is very spotty- not near as comprehensive as the US. The same frequencies are used. An outside antenna will help pull in weak signals if you can use one with your system. Toronto has a good signal but further north in our resort and cottage area where I go- nothing. Not sure about the west since I have never tried to get a signal. I do use mine all the time in the US.

My Cobra CB picks up the weather channels both in Canada and the U.S. I have no clue what the actual bands are other than the numerical one through seven on the CB. It also will generate loud, jump out of your seat loud, long tone if there is a weather warning on the channel I most recently used.

Yes, the CB is old technology. I use it mostly for weather but it is a bit of a comfort when I am on roads with no cell phone service.

Yep, as you have seen in chevor's post. I use my Maritime VHF and I can almost always pick-up a CCG signal on one or more of the pre-set weather freqs.

I also use a land base VHF and again...good to go on the weather freqs.

CBC Radio has accurate weather forecasts.

You can google up the station #s for local CBC Radio 1.

Also, there are libraries with internet access and still some CAP (community access program) sites. Ask at visitors centers or check in your visitors guides.
