From I-15 it is two lane blacktop almost exclusively until past Ridgecrest and the junction with Hwy 14.
From there through Bishop it varies but is mostly double lane divided.
Best prices on gas & diesel is at the Shell or Von's, intersection 395 and Wye Rd. You could check the casino for fuel price just north of there.
Out of Bishop its a climb to Mammoth Lakes but good road, at least as far as Bridgeport. From Lee Vining to Bridgeport is a good hill but nice road.
We went there last week. North of Bridgeport I have not been since 1972.
