North Pass, Saguche, Colorado
Traveling from south to Gunnison, Colorado. Have been on Monarch Pass before. Was wondering if anyone had traveled Hwy. 114 over North Pass.

Lynn - Yes, indeed. I consider this an easy pass. From the south will be a long almost straight climb out of Saguache. Then a descent, finally into a beautiful canyon nearer to Highway 50. A very nice drive.
- Hwy 114 is one of my favorites on the Harley. The pass is minor. The road goes through a beautiful canyon, but you'll be busy steering through all the twisty curves.
Your other option is to go further west to South Fork and take the Silver Thread Scenic byway hwy 149 through Creede & Lake City up to 50 and the Gunnison area. Its another very beautiful drive in good weather, but 149 has a very steep climb and descent over Slumgullion Pass (11,530) - Thanks, been over Monarch Pass in a car and also pulling a pop up. This time we want to pull our fifth wheel.
