We lived for many years in an area near a small town in BC at 54"50". Some of the greatest displays of northern lights were in early April. Any chance of leaving a little later than March as the weather will be almost spring like in some areas.
We owned a motel on the hwy#37 for 32 years and many RV,s heading north and south would use our plugins for the night for a small charge. Mostly spring, summer, fall. Motels,hotels Might be a good place to park for the night and get power on your way up and back.
Nice thing about northern Canada is the amount of places you can just pull off the road at night and camp.
