Northern Vermont to Maine

Traveling this summer to visit family in Maine. Taking a scenic route up to Newport, Vt and then heading to a CG in Eustis, Maine. Trip routers have me heading up through Canada on 91-143-108-212-27. I was originally planning to go down to route 2 into Maine and then 27 north. We are pulling a 36 ft fiver. Any suggestions or thoughts on this?
  • 2's not bad at all, 27 can feel tight in a couple of places between Farmington and Kingfield. Also remember you will be going up to Sugarloaf, so there will be a climb.

If you're staying at Cathedral Pines for more than a week or so, be sure to deploy Fresh Cab in your storage bays since there are a lot of woodland critters. We stayed there a week and had a bit of a squirrel problem.
  • Thanks for the feedback. We will stick to route 2 then. Yes we are heading to Cathedral Pines.
  • Rte 2 across NH and ME is just fine. Catherdral Pines? Stayed there - Rte 27 north from Rte 2 up thru Carrabassett Valley should be fine. Neither are high speed routes - enjoy the ride!

Have never been on 27, but 2 is a good scenic road, have used it a couple times. Tractor trailers use it all the time so your rig should be no problem.
