Ohio to Boston

We are headed to Boston/Cape Cod. October 14-22 Plan on heading out Interstate 80 to 81 - 84 -90 then 95 Looking for a campground in or nearby Cape Cod. Any suggestions? Driving 37' motorhome and towing a Honda crv
  • September & October are the best months to visit the Cape.

Absolutely. It's my favorite time down there plus you may catch the foliage just right down there.
  • Use 495 from the Mass Pike.

Some campgrounds in the area. Call ahead, some close after Columbus Day.
    Atlantic Oaks, Eastham
    Normandy Farms, Foxboro
    Cape Cod/Boston KOA, Middleboro
    Bourne Scenic Park, Bourne
    Sweetwater Forest, Brewster
    Peter's Pond, Sandwich
    Cape Cod Camp Resort, Falmouth
    Scusset Beach, Sagamore

September & October are the best months to visit the Cape. Enjoy.
  • I-495 looks more sensible to me than I-95 for this route. I-95 doesn't go to the cape, nor especially close to it.

When you head to the Cape from the Pike it does make more sense to take 495. However, if you are coming down from the north 95 is the closer route. The road names/numbers get confusing-suffice it to say 95 then feeds to Rt. 3 to the Cape.

Try Peters Pond Park in Sandwich or Normandy Farms in Foxboro.
  • Wampatuck State Park in Hingham MA.

Scusset Beach State Park on the Cape Cod Canal.
  • We stayed at Atlantic Oaks in Eastham this past summer and really liked it; not a lot of frills, but a great location for exploring the Cape. That said, it's way down the Cape toward Provincetown; if you're looking for a base for exploring both Boston and Cape Cod, it's probably too far out.

I don't have any campground suggestions myself, but I suspect that making reservations as soon as possible would be a decent idea. Many campgrounds will be closing or already closed around those dates.
