What's the better way to go in from the north or the south? We are staying at the KOA in Luray

From Luray, you're actually "going in" from the side, on US211, then tour the north end up to Front Royal, & back, then do the opposite end down to I64 , be aware that Skyline Drive is 105 mi. long, at 35 mph speed limit,plus all the stops, that's a Very long day of driving.
Hopefully you're not touring in the Rv,totally possible, but that's a lot of hills & curves.
