Yes which crossing, and how long a drive to get to that crossing, what part of Ontario.
S.S.Marie and then north and west of Lake Michigan, missing Chicago
or Sarnia/Port Huron or Windsor/Detroit and go through Chicago but if your coming through Toronto, not much of a problem.
For a quick overnight stop, we avoid being close to any major city, whether it be Walmart, rest area or truck stop.
As for hookups in any rest stop, we have never seen them, some states and Ontario Enroute Centres have had dump stations and non-potable water, but many of those are being closed up.
Camping close to Indianola, check out KOA, they have several campgrounds between Chicago and Indianola
