When the model year on my coach was changed, the only "field" on the registration that changed was the model year. No part of the VIN was changed. The model year determination in the "old" system was driven only by the VIN and could not be changed regardless of the year on the bill of sale. Bottom line is updating the model year will not alter the VIN.
