Ontario, OR to Bend

Just drove that route (Boise to Bend) on 6/23. Didn't have any problems, but construction zones can pop up overnight. Camped at a BLM campground (Chukar) about 6 mi north of the highway about 60mi east of Burns.

I don't mind construction and we have traveled thru plenty of it on this trip. However, someone on another forum posted that he traveled route 20 and there were large rocks on the road (resurfacing) and he had his motorhome windshield broken and damage to his toad. He said that was for miles. I cannot tell if he was speaking of the section from Ontario to Bend of from Bend to Eugene.

Haven't been on it this year but it's construction season and you will find most road having some work done on them.
You can take 26 to John Day than into Redmond, if not in a hurry stop at Clyde Holliday SP. and check out the John Day fossil Beds NM. area.

Dh traveled that a couple of weeks ago. Said they're doing minor work (sides of roads). Said he wasn't delayed but the signs said possible 10 minute delay. Any other route you take will cost you a lot more minutes than that. We'd still take that route over any other.
