OR Hwy 58 from Hwy 97 west

Look on tripcheck. It is the states highway traffic cams.

Camera shows bare and dry with snow along side roadway.

Tripcheck also shows some road maintenance work being done on 58, but the delays are supposed to be under 20 minutes.

I travel 58 /97 quite often. It is a good idea like others have said to check tripcheck. Also; let the sun get up in the sky a bit and warm up the road. After 10 AM all should be good tomorrow.
Once you reach the top; take it slow going down. It's a long downhill. 40 mph should be a good speed. The trucks do about 30 all the way down.

I might want to chat someday after you get settled in at Schwarz COE campground. My wife and I are thinking about doing the host thing.

We are at the Klamath Falls KOA. We are going to Meadowlark RV park at Cresswell tomorrow. Our destination park, Schwarz COE, does not open until after the first. We have been dodging wind and storms all the way from Alabama.

You could stay another night at K Falls and take the truck to Crater Lake NP. The south entrance is open and there is no fee in the winter. Today will be a Blue, Blue day with clear roads and 126" of roadside snow. It's about an hour from where you are now. You can thank me later.

We took that drive yesterday and it was amazing. Honestly, we got to within the last three miles of the lake and it started snowing and sleeting. Since we are 2x2, we came back to rv and went to buy chains to have with us just in case.

How's Schwarz COE?
