Tires designated by the tire industry as suitable for use in severe snow conditions are marked with a mountain/snowflake emblem on the sidewall like this:
Snowflake/Mountain emblem.
I have used all 3 on non-mountain roads and NOT towing. While studded tires and "winter" tires are good, they are nowhere near as good as chains on icy roads or deep snow.
My suggestion to RVers is get off the road and dry camp for the next 24-48 hours !
