Be sure to catch the Cape Argo Highway SW of North Bend/Coos Bay. We spent 7 weeks on the Oregon coast last summer and from Charleston to Cape Argo State Park was probably the prettiest stretch of road. A good spot to stay there at a reasonable price is the Prot of Coos Bay in Charleston. No great shakes scenery wise, but a busy harbor with good restaurants in walking distance. Do not miss the Cinnamon rolls at Crabby Cakes Bakery!
