Orlando to Prestonburg KY

We are planning a trip in October to Jenny Wiley State Park in Ky. We are on the east side of Orlando and easy access to I-95. We will take I-95 to I-26. When I-26 ends it becomes US 23. We will be pulling a 39 ft 5th wheel. Is anyone familar with this highway, and does it have any steep grades to be aware of ? Thanks for any input. :@

  • Thanks for the reassurance on the steep grades. Made a trip to Alaska last summer and hit a couple in Canada, so don't know why now I am getting leary. Just makes me feel better to know what lies ahead. Thanks again for the info ! :B
  • We have pulled our 31' 5th wheel on 23 many times. It is a very good road and practically a 4 lane all of the way from Kingsport Tn. There are a couple of grades but they are not bad and should pose no problem for your rig. This is actually the route we use when going to the Smoky Mts. You will not have any trouble!!
  • From Tennessee north into Ky there is a few pretty good grades. We have traveled that exact route many times, but none pulling a TT. Jenny Wiley is a nice park, in fact within 15 miles of where we live.
