You have a lot of time in your schedule..and I do mean a lot. If you like the country/cowboy/ranch life maybe consider going up the Fraser Canyon to Cache Creek, carry on to Williams Lake and turn west on 20, to Bella Cooola. Great drive and lots of cattle, horses, fishing and repeat as required.
Another drive to look at, instead of heading east at Sumas, find your way west, over the Second Narrows Bridge in Vancouver, onwards to the Horseshoe Bay ferry and carry on up to Whistler..and beyond to Pemberton and hang a right, up and over the Duffie Lake road to Lilloet and on to the highway just north of cache Creek.
The two routes I have mentioned are each worth consideration, offer fabulous scenery and you could easily take 5 days each one.
Also, take a look at the Kootenays area. That's an easy couple of weeks if you fish and do the Festivals and so on.
Many folks, with upwards of 8 weeks will get to Alaska and back home...to Florida.
