Pertliz...many thanks for the up-date.
I am not one who spends much time looking under rocks for bad stuff, however, I have learned the hard way, that having something in an E mail is the one way to cover one's nether regions. If I were being asked..which I am not...I would have that 90 days clearance thing in some form of a written/E mail content. They have made notes on your file and although your outfit sounds good...when it cames to big money?
Tt doesn't need to be a big deal...just a note from you, outling the converstation as you understood it and asking for a confirmation of same.
Have a wonderful winter south

Gary, that is an excellent suggestion!
I am fortunate to have out-of-country insurance from the company I retired from. Each winter before we leave I send the carrier (Sun Life) a secure E-mail asking about continuing coverage and I get a detailed E-mail response. Part of this is to confirm that the insurance is still in force as companies can change benefits over time, it pays to check!
You are just confirming the policy is still in effect? That's great to do but you should get details regarding the policy and 90 day pre-existing condition exclusions.
Both my wife and have out of country coverage from our employers. Its great we don't have to purchase coverage BUT they have 90 day pre-existing exclusions like all the rest.
This is a direct quote from the Sunlife travel insurance:
"Emergency travel medical does not cover any pre-existing conditions. A pre-existing condition is a medical condition where symptoms have appeared or required medical attention, hospitalization or treatment (this includes changes in medication or dosage) during the 9-month period before you leave your province"
Get the details of your policy.
