Over night RV stops I-15 Cedar City to Nephi

Planning a trip to Cody Wyoming from North Edwards, CA.

(CA 58 to I-15 to 189 to I-80 to 372 to 28 to 79 to 120.)

We would like to break the 1,053 miles into 3 days of 300-350 miles.

We just need a safe wide spot for the first night but may decide to reserve a spot in an RV Park. Any ideas for places on this route.

  • Another thought between Cedar City and Nephi is Yuba State Park. There is full hook-ups on the west side, just off Interstate. We stayed on the east side over Memorial Day and found it a very nice park.
  • In 2010, on the way to Yellowstone, we did an overnight by Springville at Cherry Creek Nat'l Forest CG ....others near it as well.

    Never been to it http://freecampsites.net/parowan-gap-petroglyphs-utah/.

    Walmart Supercenter - Someone posted:
Jun 2012: I called ahead to get permission, and asked again, in person, after I arrived. Each time I was told its okay to park in a remote area of the lot. Apr 2012: Did not ask but signs are posted. Dec 2010: asked and allowed to park overnight by the manager. It has been no overnight parking in the past so be sure to ask.

Little America, WY or White Mt Rd Green River/Rock Springs, WY

Wind River Casino - Riverton, Wyoming

We've gone by Thermopolis, WY twice to do a soak in the hot spring water at the State Bath House. Very neat.

We overnighted in the Wind River Canyon in Aug '09 & at one of the Boysen State Park campgrounds by the lake some years ago. Hot Springs

Cody Walmart was our neatest Walmart Overnight Site yet:

Cody is a neat place. In Cody, try to see the Buffalo Bill Historical Center with Five Museums Under One Roof. http://www.bbhc.org/

The Cody Chamber of Commerce has a nice Visitor Center (full of information) & with a really nice art gallery.

  • We like the Flying J in Nephi. Don't like Dennys @ Flying J. Restaurants in town are dry. Next stop on I-80 is Little America. Exit 66 (Approx). If you need another stop Sleeping Bear RV Park in Lander is good park. We fuel up in Rock Springs. BTW little America has great 50 cent ice cream. If eating in Little America & no kids eat in bar it is more comfortable. Best bacon avacado burger you will find anywhere. We live 15 miles north of Cody. South of Nephi we stay in Vegas AZ Charlies. We run this route several times a year on way to CA. JMHO. If you need more info on route & south pass etc send me a PM
  • Into boondocking? Try Black rock road at I-15. AZ.

N edwards to Cedar city is 376mi.
