If you are gona get a Perm Res status in Mexico, you have already made the decision to be here full time. In that case you by law and common wisdom import your car or buy one locally. That way you are in compliance with the country that you choose to reside in. If you do the temp visa so you can still have your foreign car and the benefits of a foreign residence at the same time getting the benefits of residing in Mexico for what it offers.....you are indeed playing both ends from the middle. It's really easy to do the right thing and avoid the headaches if you simply decide what you want to do. You are not smarter than the system as some of you may think. If you decide to play both ends from the middle and you get caught by either Mexico or the USA you have no one to blame but yourself.
