PA76 to VA81 to TN40 to Memphis..need overnight stays

greetings. solo female (retired) in kia soul wagon with two small service dogs traveling mid to late october from PA returning home to Santa Fe, NM via 81 through VA and TN, then I 40 through Memphis and beyond. I only drive 6 hours per day. I do not know road well until Memphis. Looking for overnights just to pass through. Campgrounds or boondocking fine as long as safe/not too noisy/not too far off path and good for pups to potty. Can tent camp or car camp, depending on time, energy, and site of stay. thank you for your help!
