I think you need to define old and new peso. They did change about 20 years ago and those prior to then were the old pesos and then they issued new pesos called nuevo pesos. But now the nuevo peso has been more or less phased out and they just have pesos again. A few years ago I found a website that explained it all. There are pictures and dates. Now they have done some recent redesigns of the old new pesos so there are now two designs of some of the current pesos. But they are mostly still good.
Here's a tip. Hacienda Contreras said they are good. If they say so then you can carve it in stone.
