Right, Tequila. My bad. Raising interest rates will cause $US to go up.
Though... Rates dropped recently in Canada. And US are talking about raising it soon. I don't remember in the last 20-30 years when the rates went up in the US while at the same time dropping in Canada, for any lengthy period of time. What I see is the rates changing the US (usually in the US first), and then they change in Canada in the same direction after a few weeks delay. I wouldn't be surprised to see Canada abruptly raising the rates following the US later this year :)
