It isn't just our poor Lonnie that is suffering. The Peso touched 16.5 on Friday. The Snowbirds who travel to AZ must be worried about the Loonie. It seems to be dropping very quickly. I think it will go beyond the 69 cent mark. Maybe even break 60 cents!!! Tequila: If you were upset about the Mexican CG owners charging USD$ just think how that will feel now! On another note I read in another forum that some US banks are no longer allowing their debit cards to be used in Mexico due to "skimming". This is where some creep installs a false front to an ATM and when you use it they capture all your data and clone the card. Apparently this is rampant in Mexico at this time. There have been a number of arrests in Canada where it is also common.Moisheh

Yes the exchange rate sucks right now ,but in the long run Our Economy will be better for it!The U.S. dollar is so greatly inflated that Exports from the U.S. Will suffer! Get ready for more cheap Imports from abroad to kick the American manufacturing industry in the Teeth!

Vehicles are the number 1 export to Canada from the US, but much else of what is exported to Canada are engines, aircraft and medical devices. Hopefully those exports won't be replaced with cheap asian knockoffs. I wonder if it will mean fewer Canadian snowbirds in Florida this winter.

Another question is what will happen in October when the IMF considers making the Chinese Yuan a world reserve currency. That could affect the value of the US dollar significantly. When you look at debt to to GDP ratios, the US dollar is overvalued and that is because it is the primary world reserve currency. The US debt to GDP ration is higher than any other world reserve currency country, other than Japan. China is 1/5 that of the US. If yuan becomes a world reserve currency, it does not take a brain surgeon to see what will happen.
