Peso is back?

Dammit. Just when I was about to buy some for the trip, it jumped up - in Canadian $ - from 0.0820 to 0.0835. Has been going up for the last two weeks.

Isn't that the truth. A person really needs to watch the 1/10th of a peso so they can buy another stupid hat for $30 dollars. I find the easiest way to save money in Mexico is to split an order of hot cakes when me and the wife go out for dinner.

  • Peso is 16.63. Not exactly what I would call a recovery. I haven't done the calculations for a long time but I found that buying with Loonies costs more than buying with equivalent USD. We put $$ into a US bank and use the US ATM card in Mexico. The savings may not be true today but we still use that method.

Doesn't look look like $CAD declined "some more" - it's remained unchanged relatively to $US for a couple of months.
Peso dropped in $CAD from 0.086 to 0.082 earlier this summer, as it did against $US as well, but last 2 weeks peso is rising against $CAD.
  • I don't think the peso "jumped", but rather the Canadian dollar declined some more.
