Hello: My wife and I plan to leave Ontario, Canada in mid-December, travelling to Boca Beach, near Melaque in Jalisco state. Last year, we crossed at Eagle Pass, TX and when we got to "Check-point Charlie" to document our vehicles (there were two fivers travelling together, with a 2,500 and 3,500 tow vehicles)we were refused documentation. We were told that the law changed on January 1, 2017 and we would have to plead our case at the border (50km back), which we did. After about 2 hours of pleading and cajoling, without any $$ paid a "seniour" officer arrived and finally approved our trucks for entry. We were also told that there was only a 2 month "window" for RVers to take their "big" trucks into Mexico unrestricted towing RVs. We had missed that window by 3 days, crossing the border on January 3rd, 2017. This year we plan to be there before December 31st in hopes of being successful with entry into Mexico. If anybody has any new & relevant information we would appreciate reading about it.
