Place to park for the night in Flagstaff or Winona AZ?

Anyone know of a safe (legal) quiet place to pull over? Coming from Utah, heading east at Flagstaff. Looks like it will cool down pretty quickly there and be 55 by midnight. I think I'd rather get ...

There's also Bonito campground just off Hwy 89 outside the entrance to Sunset Crater NM....if you don't make it east of Flagstaff. Nice forest service campground, though not free.
