plan for Canadian Rockies trip - is it do-able?

Try Redstreak in Kootenay NP at Radium it has hook-up sites. It's an easy drive through Kootenay NP to Lake Louise. much quieter than Highway 1 from Donald.

I think Jasper town would be too far for a day trip. You could substitute a triangle trip down to Radium And up through Kootenay National Park. Also the drive west through Glacier N P to Revelstoke is quite scenic. Combined with the Lake Louise area and Yoho N P there would be lots to see.
It won't be ideal as Highway 1 is going to be very busy with lots of trucks combined with vacationers. Speed limit in the National Parks is 90 Km or about 55mph .
I think the David Thompson Resort suggestion is worth considering.

I'm mostly just asking if our plan is feasible. I know it will involve driving up & into the mountains each day, so not ideal, but if it will allow us to see at least some of the Icefields Pkwy and Lake Louise areas, it's a start.

Did you look at Tunnel Mountain in Banff?

I know. We need hookups. And Lake Louise was already booked for our dates. (Not flexible due to family plans.)

I did wonder if Jasper would be too far. We may have to save it for another trip.
