Makes sense, but actually I have a friend who was scared out of her wits to travel alone in Costa Rica for a few months last winter, and she ended up having a ball and enjoying every minute!

Go for it and have fun and then spread the good word about Mexico along with everyone else who has traveled there and loved it!!
