I think you can get a lot more information by checking or searching the web for sites about travel in Mexico. Read the Kindle book "Don't Go There. It's Not Safe. You'll Die". It's worth the read and will recommend other websites for info. Check out Mexico Mike's website for info, opinions and maps of Mexico. In this forum you will get good advice from people who have been there and generally poor advice from people who haven't. Expand your search and you will find a lot of information from people who are travelling overland in Mexico.
