Planning a trip to Quartzite for the RV show

We are going to the RV show in Quartzite in Jan. Having never been there we are asking for some advise on what we should expect as far as weather, roads and camp grounds. We are not much on boon docking so we are looking for a nice place to stay. My big concern is weather. Weather going and while there. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Get your reservations early if you want to stay in a RV park with full hook ups. Usually about Jan 17th when everything starts full hookup RV parks are full. Boon docking is unlimited and free. You will have the whole desert. They have some BLM campgrounds that charge but don't offer much for the price. We have always stayed in the free camp areas. They have a place called Pit Stop. North of I-10 on hwy 95 east side of hwy where you can dump, fill up with water and propane for a reasonable fee.

Weather is usually very pleasant during the day and cooler in the evenings although quite pleasant.

You can check the internet for the exact starting date of the 2016 RV show etc.

I think the 2016 RV show will be Jan 16-24, 2016

    HOT HOT

    NOT NOT...

In the last 4 years we have yet to encounter hot weather. It is highly unlikely in January.
The Q is waaay too much fun though we find that 2 days/nights are plenty. Can't wait to go back next January for our fifth trip.

    :C
  • The one thing it won't be is HOT HOT. Warm, maybe.... But this is an El Nino year so it might be warm and REALLY wet.
Quartzsite is BY FAR a boondockers area, but if you're into glamping with hookups, get on the phone sooner than later and see whats available because the dry vs. wet camping spots are well over 1000:1
  • Ditto about the weather. We've been there with balmy 70s/80s and last year we had a week of COLD COLD COLD. I, too, like Quail Run RV park, though we haven't stayed there (we boondock). If you're planning to stay in Q, then DO get reservations. :) They will fill up during the show. And HAVE FUN!!!! We'll be there, too.
  • Weather is a Krap shoot altho it's usually pretty nice. If you're looking for campgrounds there are several in the area. We've stayed at Quail Run which we think is the nicest IN Q. There is the Blue Water Casino that has a FHU campground and there are several in Eherenberg along the Colorado River. Both of those are a bit away from the bustle of Q, but within easy driving distance.....Dennis
