Please include states in route and campground topics

I often stop to respond to a note only to realize that the is author looking form something so removed from what I know that it was a waste of my time and bandwidth to look at it. I really don't mind offering the benefit of our travel experience, but please try to be more specific with the topic.

OK, There aren't many Yellowstones, but there are many lakes with the same or similar names. I can't even guess how many Yogi Bear, Jellystone parks or Holiday Resorts there are.

US 20 goes almost all the way across. (We have only drive the eastern half.)
Any or the urban arterials exist in many places with the same number.
IE: There six unrelated pieces of highway numbered I-495. I-275, I-475 and I-675 appear and disappear all along the I-75 corridor. Don't even get me started on the I-X95...

As said, I don't mind helping, but please try to give us a better location.

Matt
  • Fortunately this forum shows the text of the OP when you hover over the subject line.

I use that quite often. After skimming the first few words I can usually tell if it's something I'm interested in or if there's something I can offer. If neither applies, I move on. No big deal.

Some people use this forum while on the road. For example with the their cell phone's data plan, or the limited bandwidth Wifi at a camp ground. The latter is especially true for travelers to Alaska.

I'm surprised I haven't seen more complaints about this forum not having a mobile version. But it is nice that ads are much less intrusive than on many other forums and sites.

The hover option does not work on a touch screen.

Forgot about that part! But I hardly think one stray click will make that much difference.
  • Another equally useless threads are such as "I'm from NJ and have 2 weeks vacation this summer. We're going to the Grand Canyon. Is there anything to see between NJ and the Grand Canyon?"
