Portland to South Lake Tahoe
We would like to travel to Crater Lake, then to Tahoe. What are some rv friendly hwys (besides I5)to get there? Would like to bypass Sacramento if possible. Thanks!

US395 through Reno followed by US50 to the Lake is probably the fastest and (overall) flattest. It's divided on both sides of Reno. Obviously there will be a climb at the end.
CA89 goes all the way to the Lake (after crossing I80). But go around the east side of the lake, not the curvier west. I like but it is 2 lane, and not quite as RV friendly.
