Quartsite

Never seen a rat while boon docking there although the way some of the 'iffier' CG's are packed in it wouldn't surprise me there.

There have been postings by the show promoters about having only the RV show and a later rock show . The car show has been cancelled .

Anytime you're in the Southwest or Texas you could have problems with pack rats which we've heard really do enjoy gnawing on wires. We've never had a problem in 17 years though and we enjoy Quartzite (for 2 weeks max.) :) We have spent every winter in the Southwest.

I alway stay ten miles east in one of the parks in Brenda. That way I can leave the crowds and craziness behind at the end of the day and enjoy the full amenities (read pool & laundry) of the park. Also, each park has a different music venue each night. The Black Rock Cafe has great food too! Oh never even seen a rat (rodent species) all my times there.

Quartsite can be a fun place to go depending on when. There are a bunch of shows put on at different times of the year-we have always gone to the RV show. We have always stayed in areas with no hook-ups as we are self contained. Have stayed on BLM land or private campgrounds--they are dirt--you pick your spot and park it.($6.00 to $15.00 per nite). That was a few years ago--may be more now. Never had any varmit or rodent problems. There is a "Honey Wagon" that drives around if you are close to town. Lars

If you don't like quartzsite my opinion is dumpy... But it's cheap... Go an hour North stay in Lake Havasu... It's got allot more to offer.....

Must have been a Ford. My neighbor had one make a nest under the hood. Ate wiring and a plastic plenum, all to the tune of $3,000. I saw it first hand when the tow truck operator was putting it on the hook. It wasn't the first time he'd run across it, something in the wiring insulation he said.

If he'd been pulling my leg, it would have come off.

I suspect it might have been some of the Locals nibbling on that guy's wires. It's tough making a living around there. Some run for office to make it.

I'd say go! Absolutely. It's a great place but there are some who find the the Q not to their liking. But I suspect they find a lot of things not to their liking.

"The RGV is too windy. The Hill Country is too cold. Florida is too expensive. California &*$@#$*&%$@#*."

It comes down to whether we go through life enjoying what's offered or spend all our time looking for excuses not to.

And if by chance you become tired of the Q there area lots of other places nearby to spend some time.

He's pulling your leg. Spark plug wires, maybe, and only at his house.
