I-40 from the Arkansas state line to OKC is just about like any other places, sort of rough in places, sort of smooth in others.
I-40, East of OKC is being worked on all summer long. It's a 9 mile stretch of the highway in both directions. It starts at mile marker 175, down to 166. One day, only one or both east bound lanes may be open. Another day it may be the west bound side.
As soon as you get past the 166 exit (Choctaw Rd) take the next exit, 240/Lawton exit (right exit). It goes around the south side of OKC, then take the Lawton exit. The first one is Anderson Rd, then Douglas, then Air Depot, Sooner Rd, Sunnylane, Bryant, Eastern, I-35 OKC/Dallas, Shields, Walker, Western, Penn, May, then Lawton. It's 1:15 from OKC to Lawton.
