questions on I-40 going west from NC to OK
OK I have never been past Knoxville, TN going west on I-40 to Lawton, Oklahoma. My questions are: Once I am past the smokey mountains on I-40 in NC/TN are there more mountains to climb to get to OK?...

I remember when that stretch between Memphis and Little Rock was being built...and it seems like the construction has never stopped! EVERY time I've been that way, there's been construction somewhere. Been a bit since I've been through, but I've read where there's still some construction going on in the West Memphis area.
I just drove this section last week. It will be the worst part of the trip. I have never seen such a high number of trucks before. It seemed to me there was a 10:1 ratio trucks to cars. And bumper to bumper the whole way.
