questions on I-40 going west from NC to OK
OK I have never been past Knoxville, TN going west on I-40 to Lawton, Oklahoma. My questions are: Once I am past the smokey mountains on I-40 in NC/TN are there more mountains to climb to get to OK?...

How about thanks to all of you,
who have replied these answers to my questions that has helped me so much..
I have a appointment to get my truck looked at, at a local diesel repair shop, he has done some work on my truck before. I figure better to be safe than sorry. I really don't want to have to trade while on the road.. BUT..
Mom and I talked this weekend, we might try only to stay in Lawton and the area maybe a couple days(Monday to Wednesday) and start on back with plans to check out some Memphis BBQ and Nashville music scene for a day or two.
Still try to be home by Saturday evening so we(ME) can rest on Sunday before the work week starts all over. Then that return trip 9-10 weeks later will be wide open for marathon 5 days. Trying not to burn all my vacation time in this 10 week block.
I will miss my mid-summer get out of the hot weather trip to the NC/VA mountains now.. BUT you do what you got to do..them babies..
