Why do posters insist that all diesel PU's are sold in Mexico? NOT TRUE. As Tequila stated the Chevs are not sold in Mexico. Lots of things are made in Mexico but not sold here. If you have a Ford or Dodge the Mexico version will NOT have a DPF nor DEF. The parts for those systems will not be easily obtained. If anything is going to go wrong with a diesel PU it is the emission system. This applies to Mexico and NOB ! Most auto dealers that are close to the border are "connected" with a US dealer. When they need US parts a Nextel phone gets them a direct line to the USA and the parts can be had in a few days. otherwise they order from the MFR. who ships first to Mexico city and then via a courier to the dealer. Can take weeks or more. Repeated usage of a US vehicle using Mexican Magna can plug the catalytic convertor. Seems to happen more with vehicles from the early 2000's. Using Premium alleviates that problem. Magna is loaded with sulfur. Sometimes Magna will leave deposits on sensors.
