Quqa Cities Illinois/Iowa I-80 or I-280

Heading west on I74 then west on I-80. Advantages of I-280 or I-80 around these cities. Looking at map it appears I-80 is a little shorter but I am guessing I-280 would have less traffic. We will be in the area late afternoon today 8-26 and I would rather take a few extra miles if there is less traffic. Thanks, Jim.

    I'd take I-280 around the Quad Cities. It's newer and should be in better shape.

    IIRC there is a rest area/overlook just as you get to the river, I usually stay at the Interstate RV Park (IIRC on name) on the North side of the IS, easy to get to.

    I've been on both. I normally just stick on 80. Didn't notice any really heavy traffic on either one that I remember. I hit that area twice a year going to Peoria.
