I can’t believe an update already. An old guy just moved a very old Caterpillar pusher tractor over near us. He seems to be working on it. He has the blade resting on an old telephone pole. He has the seat up. It is running – see the smoke from the stack if you look closely. I spoke with him.
“Hola – Buenos Tardes – Como esta – bien bien - esta máquina para reparación avenida entrada – si si - a la carretera – si si” as I point to the entrance and out toward the direction of the highway.
Happy friendly old guy. Yes I know my Spanish is not great but I think we understood each other.
As I write this he had wandered off toward the tool shed and then returned and tinkered for a bit and then shut it down and left again. Fingers crossed – maybe the road will be in better shape soon. Not at all sure about the road into town down the hill.
