If you have never been to Grand Coulee Dam, that would be a good stop. Laser light show on face of dam after dark.
Bavarian town of Leavenworth, WA. is an interesting place to visit. It is on US 2 west of Wenatchee, WA.
I-84 and US 30 would be the best route. They follow the Columbia River most of the way.
