Foreign Transaction fees...one of my pet peeves. There are very few CC's that do NOT charge this. The usual fee is now 2.5% of your purchase, and often it is buried in fees charged. This is not a CDN transaction fee..this is for ANY purchase made outside of your home country. For CDN's, the Amazon.ca Visa does NOT charge a Foreign Transaction fee. That is one of their advertised reasons to get that card. Although it is administered by Chase, it still has the Amazon.Ca features. I got it just for that reason.

Pentagon Federal Credit Union has a visa card with no foreign transaction fees , and to sweeten the deal it pays 5% cash back for all the fuel you buy with it at pay at the pump fuel stops , and 3% at grocery stores . There are all sorts of ways to become a member without being in the military or being stationed at the Pentagon .
