It is a easy drive. When I lived in Durango and worked in Grand Junction I would use that stretch of road if a storm was up on the passes on 550. BTW if you have time 145 and 141 from Placerville to Grand junction is a scenic and almost deserted drive. You do meet yourself on some of the curves. Great motorcycle road though.
