Ready cash
a couple questions for those that have done this before: How much ready cash is recommended? How much Canadian cash is recommended? Or do we rely on debit/credit cards with minimal cash on hand?

When you cross into Canada, just ask the border guard where you may find an ATM nearby so you can get some CAN cash. The guards are usually quite friendly and do their best to make you feel welcome.
