Hone Eagle, I don't believe it's gone. It was the weight of the trailer that will govern whether or not you need an AR.It used to be 10000 lbs and you need an AR but now I think its 11000 kilos(24,600Lbs) total weight of tow vehicle and trailer. What I meant was that it was taken off the books for anyone under the 11000 kilo weight. What got my dander up was that they lumped anyone over the 10 grand mark into the same category as a commercial driver and therefore had to get a medical, do a written test and a driving test every year. Sorry for not making it clearer and just to be on the safe side go to the MOT's web site and get the right info from them as I could have it wrong. I know I don't need the AR anymore.
