Requesting Texas highway information

I'm planning a trip to Kerrville, TX in the spring and would like some information about some of the highways I'm considering taking. I pull a 39-foot 5er and don't want to end up on some "cattle trail" with it. Here are the highways I'm considering:
US 281 from Wichita Falls to Stephenville
US 67/377 from Stephenville to Comanche
TX 16 Comanche to Kerrville

Any information is appreciated.

    I'm not familiar with the other two highways, but US 281 is a really good to travel. Nice and wide, built for a lot of traffic. You might want to consider following it further south (like to Johnson City) and then heading west.
