The most recent post I could find (late December 2015)regarding the highway south from San Felipe is that it is paved just beyond Alfonsinas but pacing work is continuing.Has anyone been down or up that road in the past couple of weeks between San Felipe and Highway 1 near Chapala ?? Would love a report please as it will soon be time to head north and we're wondering whether we should go that way.

WOW, 79 views but not a word of input about the road. If you know of someone who just drove the highway could you give them a nudge and ask them to post a report, thanks.

I am heading to Guerrero Negro tomorrow. I will be coming back over the Chapala cut off to Gonzaga bay on Friday. I will give you a first hand report but can't until I know for sure.Last I heard 2 weeks ago or abouts is that on the Gonzaga side it is finished to 6 miles from Cocos corner.

It's Monday Feb. 22/ There is a wealth of information now on page 2 of Baja Nomads. I only read one reply there, a driver was passed by a vehicle, later to catch up. They were having trouble bottoming out and asked if the stopped vehicle could take on one of their passengers until they got farther south...no air I guess...check it out, lots of replies.

Ed, Brother lives in Percebu. I asked him, a neighbor recently (last week) made the run. His neighbors response..."From Percebu 85 miles south paved, 25 miles to highway 1 through Coco's to Nuevo Chapala unpaved (rocky washboard)."I hope that helps. Charles
